- ½ small onion sliced
- 1 ¼ cups long grain rice
- 1 14.5 ounce can beef broth
- 1 10.5 ounce can French onion soup such as Campbell's® Condensed French Onion Soup
- 1 stick unsalted butter sliced into pats
Gather all ingredients. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
Heat olive oil in a small skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion slices and saute until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
Place rice in a 1 ¾-quart baking dish. Add broth, French onion soup, and fresh caramelized onions. Top with pats of butter.
Bake, covered, in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Uncover and cook until rice is tender, about 10 minutes more.
